We are seeking a dependable, caring Cook/Kitchen Aide to join our adult care home team. This hands-on position includes cooking, meal preparation, dishwashing, and cleaning to keep our kitchen running smoothly and provide an enjoyable dining experience for residents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and residents’ prescribed diets.
• Assist with meal setup, portioning, and timely service.
• Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and dining areas as assigned.
• Follow food safety procedures for handling, storage, labeling, and temperature control.
• Help receive deliveries, rotate stock, and organize supplies.
• Dispose of trash and maintain a clean, orderly kitchen.
• Communicate food shortages, equipment concerns, and resident dietary concerns to the Kitchen Manager.
• Work cooperatively with coworkers and treat residents with kindness, dignity, and respect.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous cooking or food service experience, especially in assisted living, an adult care home, or another healthcare setting.
• ServSafe certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with food safety, sanitation, and special diets.
