About the role
A kitchen assistant/cook is required for a busy cafe in Lake Tekapo. The role involves assisting the head chef in preparing approximately 500 meals per day.
Key responsibilities
- Wash, chop, measure, and prepare ingredients
- Pre-cook items for chefs and other kitchen staff
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organisation
- Follow prep lists
- Ensure food safety
- Label and stock ingredients
- Manage inventory
- Perform basic cooking tasks such as making sauces or salads
About you
- At least 2 years of experience
- Strong knife skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- Good communication skills
