Cook/Pit Master

Job Overview

As a Cook/Pit Master, you’ll prepare and cook meals with care, consistency, and attention to food safety. You’ll use grilling, braising, and poaching techniques, follow recipes, and help plan menus that meet guests’ needs. Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and meals, using strong knife skills and appropriate cooking methods.
• Grill and smoke foods, braise and poach ingredients, and operate kitchen equipment safely.
• Follow recipes and menu plans while supporting food production and meal preparation.
• Apply food handling, food safety, and sanitizing procedures throughout kitchen work.
• Coordinate with the kitchen team to support daily service and high-volume production.

Requirements

• Experience in cooking, food preparation, food service, or a related food industry role; kitchen, restaurant, or culinary experience is relevant.
• Knowledge of food safety management, safe food handling, and kitchen sanitizing procedures.
• Ability to follow recipes, use kitchen equipment, and apply grilling, braising, poaching, and knife skills.
• Menu planning, catering, fine dining, or high-volume production experience is preferred.
• Dietary aide or dietary department experience is a plus.
• Lifting 60+ pounds

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
