Job Description: Prep Cook at New York Bakery Boys in Celebration, Florida

We are looking for a dedicated Prep Cook to join our culinary team at New York Bakery Boys. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient preparation of ingredients and contributing to the overall success of our kitchen operations.

Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces to support the timely execution of menu items.

• Food Safety: Adhere to strict food safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, ensuring the quality and freshness of all prepared ingredients.

• Menu Planning Support: Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure all necessary ingredients are readily available for daily menu offerings, contributing to smooth service operations.

• Equipment Handling: Utilize kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, and food processors safely and efficiently to prepare ingredients according to recipes and portion requirements.

• Organization: Maintain a well-organized workstation, including proper storage of ingredients, labeling of prepared items, and overall cleanliness to facilitate a seamless cooking process.

Experience:

• Prior experience in a similar role within the food industry is preferred.

• Knowledge of food handling procedures, including proper storage, preparation, and sanitation practices.

• Familiarity with menu planning concepts and dietary department operations is advantageous.

• Proficiency in food preparation techniques such as knife skills, catering preparations, and restaurant-style cooking methods is beneficial.
