Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the cook is to skillfully prepare, cook, and present menu items, enhancing their appeal with appropriate accompaniments and garnishes. The role is pivotal in setting the pace for food orders, with the cook's productivity directly influencing the efficiency of the ticket flow process. Additionally, the prep position is crucial in readying and portioning ingredients for use by cooks and salad makers, ensuring smooth kitchen operations. The cook's proficiency not only dictates the tempo of service but is also critical to upholding the restaurant's service standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Cook and prepare food items based on customer flow.
• Ensure guest satisfaction with high-quality, health code-compliant, and timely food presentations.
• Follow operating procedures to meet Chef's standards.
• Process food tickets and maintain quality & health standards for all dishes.
• Adhere to all sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Implement cost-saving measures as directed by the Chef and F&B Managers.
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Stock and rotate food items according to management instructions.
• Handle and maintain kitchen equipment, supplies, and tools efficiently.
• Execute opening and closing kitchen procedures effectively.
• Organize and prepare for shifts to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in training new staff and report any issues with equipment or supplies to F&B Managers.

Qualifications:

• Experience
  • 4-6 years of proven cooking experience required.
• Education
  • High School Diploma required.
• Specialized knowledge
  • Demonstrated proficiency in cooking.
  • Familiarity with federal and state health codes and cooking regulations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
• A valid food handler's certificate or the willingness to obtain one upon hire.
