Coordinator 2 Communications

JOB SUMMARY

The Communications Coordinator 2 plays a vital role in supporting the communications department as well as providing strategic support for the HISD Press Office. The ideal candidate must be fluent in Spanish. This role will serve as a representative of the district during high-profile, sensitive or rapidly evolving situations. This position requires excellent writing skills, experience managing social media, experience serving as a spokesperson, and providing on-camera interviews and statements. A combination of strategic thinking and the ability to drive results are a must. The Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting departmental goals, developing and implementing strategies, and coordinating the efficient and effective execution of press-related communications and initiatives.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree

WORK EXPERIENCE

At least 8 years working in a communications role. Experience in education preferred.
