What they need
Coordinator - Kingseat
As Totara Farm Trust continues to evolve, an exciting opportunity has become available for a Coordinator to lead our team at our Kingseat property.
Following the promotion of our current Kingseat Coordinator into a newly created leadership role within the Trust, we are now looking for an exceptional person to lead our Kingseat team.
Nestled in the peaceful rural community of Kingseat, this role offers the opportunity to combine hands-on leadership with meaningful work, supporting adults with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling, self-determined lives. If you enjoy leading people, solving problems, building strong relationships and making a genuine difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.
This is a varied leadership role where no two days are the same, so we're looking for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is happy to be flexible and adapt as priorities change.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience and passion supporting adults with intellectual disabilities.
- Has experience leading and developing teams.
- Holds a minimum of a New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4
(or an equivalent qualification). - Is confident learning and using a range of software systems.
- Communicates confidently with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Is an accomplished, creative problem solver.
- Knows how to delegate effectively and empower others.
- Is exceptionally organised and able to juggle competing priorities.
- Is flexible and adaptable, recognising that priorities can change quickly and no two days are ever the same.
- Is willing to roll up their sleeves and support the team wherever needed, while maintaining a focus on the bigger picture.
- Leads with respect, empathy and a solutions-focused mindset.
What you'll be doing:
As Coordinator, you'll be responsible for leading a dedicated team of Personal Assistants and empower them to ensure the people we support receive outstanding, person-centred support.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Role modelling a respectful, responsive and creative approach to support and communication.
- Overseeing quality service delivery and the day-to-day operations of the Kingseat property.
- Building strong relationships with your team, whānau, the people we support and other stakeholders.
- Supporting staff wellbeing, development and performance.
- Managing team rosters.
- Providing leadership around medical support needs.
- Leading engaging and productive team meetings.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Supporting the team through the unexpected, making sound decisions and adapting to changing priorities as they arise.
- And, of course... a bunch of other interesting things that come with leading an awesome team and working alongside amazing people!
Why join Totara Farm Trust?
We're proud to be a values-driven organisation where relationships matter and people genuinely care about one another.
When you join our leadership team you'll enjoy:
- A leadership team that has your back. You'll never be expected to do it alone.
- Leadership coaching and ongoing professional development to help you continue growing as a leader.
- The opportunity to genuinely influence how Totara Farm Trust continues to evolve.
- A personal wellness budget because we believe looking after our team is just as important as looking after the people we support.
- The chance to work in a beautiful semi-rural environment while making a real difference in people's lives.
- A close-knit organisation supporting 29 people with around 50 staff. We intentionally remain small so we can focus on quality, relationships and knowing everyone by name.
