Join a team where your contribution matters, your skills are valued, and progress is made every day. Greatland’s core values of integrity, safety, teamwork, ownership and results are at the heart of its sustainable operating culture.

About the Role

Are you an experienced drilling professional ready to step into a leadership role with impact?

We are seeking a Drilling Coordinator to join our Resource Development team at Telfer. In this role, you will be responsible for the successful coordination and execution of underground diamond, surface RC and diamond drilling programs. From planning and scheduling through to contractor management, safety leadership and reporting, you will play a critical role in ensuring drilling activities are delivered safely, efficiently and within budget.

This is your opportunity to contribute directly to the success of one of Australia's key mining operations while driving performance, safety, and quality across a complex drilling environment.

This role is offered on a permanent full- time basis with an 8/6 roster FIFO from Perth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage detailed drilling schedules across multiple rigs and methods.
  • Liaise with contractors to ensure rig readiness, crew induction, and equipment compliance.
  • Supervise daily operations and provide on-site technical oversight to ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensure core and sample quality, minimising contamination and maximising recovery.
  • Enforce HSE standards, lead safety meetings, and support environmental compliance.
  • Maintain open communication with geology teams, site management, and support crews.
  • Track and manage costs for consumables, rig hours, and contractor services.
  • Deliver accurate and timely reporting, including daily logs and end-of-hole summaries.
  • Support audits and continuous improvement through documentation and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate site access, pad preparation, and post-drill rehabilitation to site standards.

About You

You are an experienced drilling professional with extensive knowledge of drilling practices, equipment and operational planning. You bring a safety-first mindset and a strong understanding of WHS legislation and compliance requirements. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy leading diverse teams and contractors to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality drilling programs. Additionally, you will have:

Essential:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Drilling Operations.
  • Minimum 7 years' hands-on experience in drilling operations, including underground and surface diamond drilling and RC drilling.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or coordination role overseeing multiple rigs or drilling programs.
  • Strong knowledge of drilling practices, equipment operation and drilling safety standards.
  • Sound understanding of workplace health and safety legislation and environmental regulations relevant to drilling operations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with contractors, operational teams and key stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital reporting systems, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Current HR Driver's Licence and 4WD certification (or willingness to obtain).

Desirable:

  • Advanced qualification such as an Advanced Diploma or Degree in Drilling Operations.
  • Experience working in remote mining operations under FIFO or DIDO rosters.
  • Understanding of downhole survey tools, directional drilling techniques and core orientation tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience managing drilling contracts and contractor performance.
  • WHS/OH&S certification.
  • Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor Certification or the ability to obtain.
