About the Role

The Sourcing Coordinator supports sourcing and packaging development activities across AS Beauty’s portfolio of brands. This role works closely with the Senior Manager, Sourcing + Packaging Development to coordinate packaging and component sourcing, vendor communication, samples, quotations, testing, documentation, and project tracking from initial development through production readiness. This role supports new product development and ongoing business across skincare and bath & body.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and interested in building a career in beauty sourcing and packaging development. This role requires strong follow-through and the ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating with internal teams and domestic and international vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage sourcing and packaging development for new product launches, reformulations, repacks, and ongoing business across the AS Beauty brand portfolio.
• Source primary and secondary packaging, components, accessories, and finished goods from domestic and international suppliers.
• Manage packaging development from initial concept through sampling, tooling, decoration, testing, approvals, and production readiness.
• Manage the end-to-end internal and external packaging approval process, from initial concepts and copy through final artwork, proofs, and printed samples.
• Partner with Product Development and Creative to translate product and design concepts into commercially viable packaging solutions.
• Manage Creative workload and priorities, ensuring timely execution across multiple projects and launches.
• Coordinate artwork files, digital proofs, dielines, and printed samples with vendors through final approval.
• Identify packaging materials, components, decoration techniques, and manufacturing capabilities that meet brand aesthetic, functionality, quality, cost, and timing objectives.
• Manage day-to-day communication with domestic and international suppliers, manufacturers, and packaging partners.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new packaging and manufacturing suppliers in partnership with the Director, Sourcing.
• Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships while monitoring performance across quality, cost, service, lead times, capacity, and reliability.
• Manage packaging samples, prototypes, color standards, decoration submissions, and approval processes.
• Develop and maintain an organized packaging library to provide the Sourcing team with easy access to packaging samples, components, and reference materials.
• Troubleshoot packaging, component, quality, production, and vendor issues and drive timely resolution with internal and external partners.
• Maintain accurate sourcing and packaging trackers, specifications, quotations, cost approvals, tooling information, vendor records, and project documentation.
• Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables and proactively escalate potential cost, quality, or timing risks.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product Development, Creative, Regulatory & Quality, Operations, Marketing, and Finance throughout development and commercialization.
• Support competitive benchmarking and identify opportunities to improve packaging quality, functionality, cost, and consumer experience.
• Participate in supplier meetings, factory visits, packaging reviews, trade shows, and other sourcing and development activities as needed.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in sourcing, packaging, product development, production, procurement, or a related function; beauty, cosmetics, or personal care experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Packaging, Product Development, or a related field preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, samples, and follow-ups simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
• Proficiency in Excel and experience maintaining detailed trackers and project documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in costing, packaging, and product development.
• Proactive, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Interest in beauty products, packaging innovation, manufacturing, and global sourcing.
