Copyright & Content Licensing Manager

Info Arab Media FZ-LLC / Al Mashhad is seeking a Copyright & Content Licensing Manager to join our existing Digital Team in Egypt, The Copyright & Content Licensing Manager is responsible for handling copyright claims and strikes, clearing and licensing third-party content, maintaining accurate rights records, reducing copyright risk, and protecting Al Mashhad's original content from unauthorised use.

The Key Responsibilities are:

Copyright Claims & Strikes

· Monitor copyright claims, strikes and takedown notices across Al Mashhad's digital platforms.

· Assess the validity and risk of each case and verify whether appropriate rights or licences are in place.

· Manage communication and negotiations with claimants, rights holders and licensing agencies.

· Submit disputes, appeals and counter-notices where appropriate, in coordination with Legal when required.

· Maintain an accurate copyright case log covering status, deadlines, actions and outcomes.

Rights Management & Compliance

· Maintain a central rights register for third-party footage, images, music and other licensed content.

· Build and maintain a cleared-content archive that editorial teams can safely reuse.

· Conduct regular audits to identify published content with missing or insufficient rights documentation.

Content Clearance & Licensing

· Manage rights clearance for third-party content before publication when required.

· Manage relationships with content-licensing and UGC partners.

· Contact creators and rights holders directly when content is not available through existing partners.

· Maintain written evidence of permissions and licensing agreements.

Protection of Al Mashhad Content

· Monitor platforms for unauthorised re-use or re-uploading of Al Mashhad's original content.

· Manage relevant rights-protection tools such as YouTube Content ID and Meta Rights Manager, where available.

· Submit copyright enforcement or takedown requests when required.

· Assess whether infringements should be removed, monetised or licensed.

Copyright Governance & Training

· Act as the main internal point of contact for copyright, licensing and UGC-rights questions.

· Develop and maintain copyright and UGC usage policies and pre-publication checklists.

Content Acquisition & Rights Management

. leading the acquisition of user-generated (UGC) videos and other third-party footage for editorial use

. Identify in coordination with the social media teams' relevant content on social platforms

. Reach out to the original creators and rights holders, negotiate usage terms and secure written permission or licenses before publication.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B / Business Law), Media/Communications, Business Administration, or Intellectual Property.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in copyright management, content licensing, media rights or digital content operations within a media company, broadcaster, publisher, MCN, licensing company or agency.
• Hands-on experience managing copyright claims, strikes and takedown processes across major digital platforms.
• Previous experience within a newsroom or social-video operation.
• Familiarity with YouTube Content ID, Meta Rights Manager and similar rights-management systems.
• Fluent written and spoken Arabic and English.
