Copyrightmanager (M/F/D)

We're an independent publishing company founded in 2024, primarily focused on viral neoclassical music. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, globally-minded Copyright Manager to join our team and be a partner to the Managing Director in growing and exploiting our publishing catalogue. 

The ideal candidate will combine experience in copyright and metadata with high attention to detail and a desire for process automation. You’ll be responsible for implementing and maintaining our copyright system, future-proofing the growing publishing company’s best practices in the area of copyright, and responding to client inquiries. The position is based in Berlin but open to remote candidates.

What You’ll Do

• Establish and maintain Aemeralds publishing copyright systems including metadata and chain of title
• Set up new contracts and ingest song catalogues
• Deliver all or portions of Aemeralds song catalogue to various exploitation partners including sub-publishers, synch agents, and other platforms
• Field and respond to client inquiries
• Field and respond to sub-publisher, administrator and PRO inquiries including disputes
• Perform quality assurance that catalogue metadata is correct and all titles registered at all relevant PRO’s and digital sources
• Maintain communication around copyright matters with all exploitation partners
• Generally establish and, where possible, automate internal copyright best practices

What You Bring

• Minimum 2 years background in music or an adjacent industry
• Excellent attention to detail
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (esp. Excel) and in general with large data sets
• Experience with asset management systems (Reprtoir, RightsHub, etc.), copyright & royalty systems (Curve, iMaestro, etc.) a plus
• Understanding of important metadata fields and what they mean
• Self-starter
• English a must, German very helpful, other languages a plus
