Core Network Planning Engineer

Connect Businesses. Drive Growth. Expand Globally.

At Symphony Communication Public Company Limited, we connect businesses through reliable, secure, and innovative telecommunications and digital connectivity solutions. As one of Thailand's leading telecommunications providers, we serve enterprises, carriers, cloud providers, and global partners across Thailand and the region.

We’re looking for an experienced Core Network professional who enjoys designing and improving large-scale IP/MPLS networks. You’ll work on network planning, architecture, capacity, resiliency, technology upgrades, and future network expansion—helping ensure our network is scalable, reliable, and ready to support business growth.

This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on knowledge of IP/MPLS, BGP, IS-IS, Segment Routing/SRv6, and Core Network Architecture, who is ready to take a broader role in network planning and technical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and design Core Backbone, Internet, IP/MPLS, SDN-MPLS, Aggregation, and Data Center networks to support business growth and future network expansion.
• Design and improve network topology, routing, and traffic flow using BGP, IS-IS, IGP, MPLS, Segment Routing/SRv6, and related routing policies.
• Perform capacity planning and traffic analysis to identify when network links, ports, or equipment need to be expanded.
• Design network redundancy and protection to reduce single points of failure and improve service availability.
• Plan and manage software, firmware, controller, and network platform upgrades, including risk review, testing, rollback plan, and post-upgrade validation.
• Define technical standards, network parameters, and implementation guidelines for Core Backbone, Internet, MPLS, and related network infrastructure.
• Forecast equipment and spare-part requirements based on network growth, utilization, failure trends, and lifecycle status.
• Support major incidents and disaster recovery, including network redesign during fiber cuts, equipment failures, natural disasters, or critical service outages.
• Evaluate new network technologies and solutions to improve performance, resiliency, scalability, automation, and cost efficiency.
• Technical evaluation, BOQ review, vendor clarification, and technical recommendations for network expansion/upgrade and new projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in Core Network, IP Network, Telecom Network, ISP, or Service Provider Network Engineering.
• Strong experience in network planning, design, architecture, routing, capacity planning, and network resiliency.
• Strong knowledge of IP/MPLS, BGP, IS-IS, SRv6, Routing, Network Architecture, and Traffic Engineering.
• Experience in large-scale network infrastructure, network expansion, lifecycle management, and major incident recovery is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle critical network situations.
• Good communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams and technology vendors.
