Job Title: Mainframe Production Support
Position: Senior Software Engineer
Experience: 6-8 years
Category: Production Support (24X7)
Shift: (Rotation)
7 AM till 4 PM
1 PM till 10 PM
Weekend support is required on the rotation basis for 3 4 hours
Work Mode: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days WFH)

Education Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or higher with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
Position Description: We are looking for a Mainframe Production Support Engineer to support and maintain businesscritical mainframe applications. The role involves monitoring production systems, resolving incidents, ensuring SLA compliance, and coordinating with development and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth operations.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Provide 24x7 production support for mainframe applications
. Monitor batch jobs and online transactions using tools such as CA7, ControlM
. Analyze and resolve production incidents, abends, and system failures
. Perform root cause analysis and provide permanent fixes
. Handle job failures, DB2 issues, IMS, and file related problems
. Coordinate with development, QA, and infrastructure teams for issue resolution
. Support change management, releases, and production deployments
. Ensure adherence to SLA and compliance standards
. Create and maintain production support documentation
. Participate in on call and shift rotations Strong experience in IBM Mainframe

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Must Have Skills:

. Hands on expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM
. Familiarity with job scheduling tools, and monitoring utilities
. Understanding of batch and online processing
. Experience working in ITIL based support environments
. Strong analytical and problem solving skills
. Good communication and stakeholder management skills

Good to Have Skills:

. Exposure to performance tuning
. Knowledge of Change/Incident/Problem Management
. Banking or financial domain experience (preferred)
. Experience with automation tools or scripting
