Corporate Associate Attorney

Corporate Associate | Los Angeles, CA | 3-9 Years Experience | $230K-$350K Base

AJ Chambers are delighted to be working with an established full service law firm seeking a Corporate Associate to join its corporate transactional practice in Los Angeles.

This opportunity is suited to an attorney with experience in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private company transactions, equity financings, capital markets, joint ventures and general corporate matters. The successful candidate will represent middle market businesses, public and private companies, capital providers, high net worth individuals and family offices across a range of industries.

Must Haves

• 3-9 years of legal experience in corporate transactional law at a law firm.
• Experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), including corporate acquisitions and business transactions.
• Experience with equity financings, capital markets transactions, joint ventures or similar corporate finance matters.
• Experience drafting and reviewing corporate transaction documents, purchase agreements, financing agreements and related corporate documentation.
• Experience advising middle market clients, rather than exclusively working on large cap transactions.
• Active California Bar admission.
• JD from an accredited law school.
• Strong academic credentials; law school transcript required at submission.
• Excellent written communication, interpersonal and client facing skills.
• Willingness to work four days per week in the Los Angeles office.
• Comfortable with a 1,900 hour annual billable target and performance based bonus structure.

Nice to Have

• Technology transactions experience.
• Outside general counsel experience, including advising businesses on ongoing corporate and commercial matters.
• In house corporate counsel experience alongside law firm transactional experience.
• A deal sheet demonstrating completed M&A or capital markets transactions.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary of $230,000-$350,000.
• Total compensation of $380,000-$475,000, including discretionary bonus, for associates billing 1,900+ hours.
• Additional bonus for originated work.
• Significant upside compensation for hours billed above the 1,900 hour target.

• Hybrid working arrangement: four days in office and one day remote in Los Angeles.
