JOB DESCRIPTION: Strategic Sourcing (BOM)

ROLE Strategic Sourcing Engineer

Grade: Deputy Manager / Assistant Manager

Experiance : 10+years

EDUCATION:

DIPLOMA / BE / B-TECH MECHANICAL OR MBA SCM

SECTOR/INDUSTRY AUTO COMPONENTS/MANUFACTURING/HIGH PRECISION SYSTEMS

FUNCTION Strategic Sourcing / Procurement / BOM Sourcing / Vendor Development / Component Development Casting & Machining / Proprietary.

Job Purpose:

To drive strategic sourcing activities for direct materials (BOM items), ensuring cost competitiveness, supplier development, quality, delivery performance, and risk mitigation while supporting new product development and business growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for BOM commodities.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance.
• Drive supplier localization and alternate source development.
• Cost Optimization
• Conduct cost analysis, benchmarking, and negotiations.
• Achieve annual cost reduction and productivity targets.
• Support VA/VE initiatives with suppliers and internal teams.
• Monitor commodity trends and market dynamics.
• New Product Development (NPD) Support
• Source components for new projects as per project timelines.
• Participate in supplier selection and technical reviews.
• Ensure timely supplier readiness for SOP (Start of Production).
• Supplier Quality & Delivery Improvement
• Coordinate with Quality and Manufacturing teams to resolve supplier issues.
• Monitor supplier quality performance and corrective actions.
• Ensure uninterrupted supply and improve OTIF performance.
