Corporate Communications Manager

Role & responsibilities

The role is responsible for effectively supporting the development and execution of HDFC Bank's external communications activities. This is an execution driven role supporting the communications strategy. The role demands excellent writing skills, strong media understanding and the ability to coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred candidate profile

1. External Communications

• Execute media relations plans including outreach, interview co-ordination and media engagement for the assigned portfolio.
• Draft press releases, FAQs, statements, media briefs and suggested talk points for the spokesperson(s)
• Planning for the portfolio assigned to ensure that the PR plans are aligned with the Banks business objectives.
• Contribute to enhancing the Banks market reputation with appropriate messaging
• Work on further development of the Bank's relationships with the media including national press and regional media
• Knowledge of subject (portfolio based) and the media in specific geography assigned
• Monitor daily media coverage, prepare reports and highlight key developments to team lead
• Work closely with the PR agency for day to day deliverables, content flow, and pitch planning
• Responsibility for certain reports prepared by CCD for business/ regulator
• Support with resolution of banking issues for media personnel / received through media, by coordinating with business
• Crisis/ issues media management (together with the line manager) for any issue that erupts in the geographies assigned.

2. Digital & Social Media Support

• Co-ordinate with digital agencies for creatives, videos and campaigns
• Create a calendar of activities/ posts for all social handles
• Have good awareness of each social platform and how to leverage appropriately for the Banks messaging
• Sections on website are managed by CCD. If assigned to the portfolio, review of content for it to be updated at all times in the sections under CCD

3. Content Creation & Editorial Support

• Write and edit high quality content for multiple platforms : press releases, articles, speeches, blogs, internal messages and presentations
• Prepare speaking points for spokesperson with suitable research
• Ensure all content is aligned with brand guidelines.

4. Crisis & issues Communication

• Alert media monitoring and agency co-ordination for an incident in any geography assigned to the role.
• Update for team lead on the situation with an attempt at draft statement, if required
