Key Responsibilities

· Financial Leadership & Reporting:

o Lead the finance function and provide the President and leadership team with timely, accurate, and decision-useful financial information.

o Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, management reporting, financial statements, and key performance indicators.

o Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, banking agreements, and regulatory obligations.

· Strategic Planning & Business Partnership:

o Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, scenario modelling, and long-range financial planning for operating and capital priorities.

o Translate financial and operational results into clear insights, risks, opportunities, and recommendations for senior leadership.

o Partner with operations, procurement, sales, and executive leadership to support profitable growth, productivity, and sound investment decisions.

· Accounting Operations & Controls:

o Oversee general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash management, banking, and working-capital processes.

o Maintain a robust internal-control environment and establish scalable policies, procedures, and approval authorities.

o Coordinate the year-end review engagement, tax filings, insurance renewals, and preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.

· Manufacturing & Operational Finance:

o Develop meaningful operational and financial performance measures for a manufacturing environment, including throughput, productivity, working capital, and inventory accuracy.

o Provide financial oversight of inventory controls, capital expenditures, purchasing, and logistics to strengthen operational discipline and accountability.

o Support business cases, capacity planning, and continuous-improvement initiatives with rigorous financial analysis.

· Team Leadership & Organizational Support:

o Lead, coach, and develop a four-person accounting team, setting clear standards for service, accuracy, timeliness, and accountability.

o Provide financial leadership and oversight related to shipping, logistics, and purchasing support.

o Build effective relationships across the organization and communicate complex financial matters clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

· Systems & Continuous Improvement:

o Improve finance processes, reporting, controls, and systems to increase efficiency, visibility, and data integrity.

o Champion effective use of the ERP platform and business intelligence tools, including automation and standardized reporting.

o Promote a culture of continuous improvement, practical problem-solving, and disciplined execution.

Qualifications

· Education & Designation:

o Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

o Canadian CPA designation a significant asset

· Experience:

o Progressive finance leadership experience, including responsibility for the full accounting cycle, financial reporting, planning, controls, and team leadership.

o Substantial experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or similarly complex operational environment; cabinetry or building-products experience is an asset.

o Demonstrated success partnering with an owner, President, or executive team and influencing operational and strategic decisions.

o Hands-on experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central experience is an asset.

o Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial-modelling skills; experience with reporting or business intelligence tools is preferred.

· Leadership Competencies:

o Strong financial acumen, commercial judgement, and the ability to connect operational activity with business performance.

o A strategic, analytical mindset combined with a willingness to work hands-on in a growing organization.

o High integrity, excellent judgement, and a commitment to accurate, transparent financial stewardship.

o Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and build credibility across functions.

o Proven ability to develop teams, improve processes, manage competing priorities, and deliver consistently against deadlines.
