Director, Corporate Controller

The Opportunity

We are partnering with an established global consumer products organization to identify a Director, Corporate Controller . This highly visible position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will lead the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls and compliance activities.

The Corporate Controller will oversee and develop the accounting team while partnering closely with the CFO to strengthen processes, improve reporting and maintain a disciplined financial-control environment. This opportunity is well suited to a hands-on accounting leader who can balance technical expertise with team leadership and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and fixed assets.
• Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Review account reconciliations, financial statements, P&L results and balance-sheet activity.
• Oversee quarterly financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and IFRS requirements.
• Manage the external audit process and serve as the primary liaison with outside auditors.
• Design, maintain and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and protect financial integrity.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and reporting requirements.
• Identify financial and operational risks and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Support the CFO with cash management, treasury activities and banking relationships.
• Oversee timely tax filings and required governmental reporting.
• Support annual insurance renewals and other finance-related priorities.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals.
• Drive improvements to accounting processes, systems, controls and reporting capabilities.
• Participate in systems implementations and other cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Active CPA designation required.
• At least five years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership or supervisory responsibility.
• Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting and internal controls.
• Experience managing month-end close, account reconciliations and external audits.
• Proficiency with a major ERP platform; JD Edwards experience is helpful but not required.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively across functions and organizational levels.
• A collaborative, hands-on leadership style suited to a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience

• Accounting leadership experience within food, consumer products, manufacturing or a similarly complex business.
• Familiarity with both GAAP and IFRS reporting.
• Experience improving accounting processes, controls and reporting infrastructure.
• Participation in ERP implementations, upgrades or financial-systems transformations.
• Demonstrated success building and developing high-performing accounting teams.
