Corporate Tax Manager
Bury St Edmunds | Hybrid Working Available
Shape Transactions. Deliver Strategic Advice. Drive Client Success.
Are you an experienced Corporate Tax professional looking for a role that offers genuine advisory exposure, involvement in transactional work and the opportunity to work closely with ambitious businesses and their owners?
We are seeking a Corporate Tax Manager to join a growing and ambitious team in Bury St Edmunds. This is an outstanding opportunity for a commercially minded practice tax specialist who enjoys providing strategic advice, building trusted client relationships, and playing a key role in complex tax planning.
Working alongside Partners and senior stakeholders, you will advise a varied client portfolio ranging from entrepreneurial owner-managed businesses through to larger corporate groups, helping clients navigate complex tax matters whilst identifying opportunities to maximise value and support growth.
The Opportunity
This role offers a strong mix of corporate tax compliance oversight and high-level advisory work, as well as transactions, restructuring projects and M&A activity.
You'll become a trusted adviser to clients, helping them make informed decisions during key stages of their business lifecycle, from growth and investment through to acquisitions, disposals and succession planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients across a broad range of industries
- Delivering high-quality corporate tax advisory services to businesses and shareholders
- Advising on mergers, acquisitions, business disposals and wider transaction-related matters
- Supporting clients through due diligence exercises and M&A transactions
- Advising on corporate restructures, group reorganisations and business succession planning
- Identifying tax planning opportunities and developing bespoke client solutions
- Reviewing complex corporate tax computations and returns
- Working closely with Partners on strategic advisory assignments
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and professional intermediaries
- Supporting business development activities and identifying opportunities to expand services
- Mentoring and developing junior members of the tax team
- Monitoring legislative changes and advising clients on their potential impact
About You
We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:
- Significant experience within corporate tax, gained in practice
- Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation
- Experience delivering advisory projects and technical tax planning assignments
- Exposure to transactions, restructuring work and M&A activity
- Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills
- Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving abilities
- The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
- ACA, ACCA and/or CTA qualification
- A proactive and consultative approach to client service
What's On Offer?
- Exposure to a broad range of advisory and transaction-led work
- Opportunities to work directly with Partners and Directors
- Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
- Clear progression opportunities within a growing team
- A collaborative and supportive culture
- High-quality clients and varied project work
- A friendly, people-focused environment where contributions are recognised and valued
Why Apply?
This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking firm where corporate tax is viewed as a strategic advisory function rather than simply a compliance service. You'll work on engaging and commercially focused projects and play an important role in helping businesses achieve their long-term objectives, all whilst developing your own career and the tax function within a supportive and ambitious team.
