You know the feeling. You walk into a hotel and within an hour you know what’s working and what’s not. The team is tired and the QA scores are slipping. The guest comments say what everyone already knows.

The role

Shamin Hotels is Virginia’s largest hotel management company, with 85+ hotels across Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, and IHG. When one of our hotels goes through a big moment, we send in our Corporate Transition GM. That could be a new acquisition, a brand conversion, a PIP, or a leadership gap.

You’ll step in, steady the ship, and raise the bar. That means guest scores, cleanliness, brand standards, and the bottom line. Then you’ll leave behind a team that’s stronger and more confident than the one you found.

This is not a contract or task force gig. You’re a full-time, permanent Shamin Associate with full benefits and a real career path. The hotels change, but your seat on our team doesn’t.

What you’ll do

• Make an impact fast. Assess each hotel and build a 30/60/90-day plan people can actually follow.
• Win the inspection. Lead hotels to QA readiness and passing scores across our brand families.
• Move the guest scores. Coach front-line teams until service becomes a habit.
• Grow people. Hire, train, and mentor. Your legacy is the leaders you leave behind.
• Own the numbers. Manage revenue, payroll, and expenses like the hotel is your own.
• Shape the company. Between assignments, work directly with our COO and VP of Operations on projects that move all of Shamin forward.

What you bring

• Hilton and Marriott experience (required). You know their standards, systems, and QA inside and out.
• Hyatt or IHG experience is a bonus.
• 2+ years as a General Manager, ideally in select service.
• A track record of turnarounds: scores you raised, teams you rebuilt, results you can point to.
• Strong financial skills and comfort with a P&L.
• Flexibility to travel and work varied schedules, including some weekends.
• A valid driver’s license.
