What they need

About the opportunity

We are an award-winning, rapidly growing cosmetic surgery and aesthetics business seeking an experienced Cosmetic Surgeon to join our team at our new high end Knightsbridge location.

This is an exciting opportunity to join us as we expand, contribute to the development of our new clinic and help shape and lead our cosmetic surgery offering.

The successful candidate will bring expertise in cosmetic surgery, sound clinical judgement and a commitment to safe, personalised patient care. The role will encompass a range of cosmetic surgical procedures, including liposuction and blepharoplasty, with the wider scope of practice agreed according to the surgeon’s qualifications, experience and the clinic’s facilities.

Experience in non-surgical injectable treatments is required. Experience with energy-based treatments would be beneficial but is not essential. (Training can be provided)

Purpose of the role

To provide consultations, cosmetic surgical treatments and ongoing care, supporting patients from their initial assessment through to recovery and follow-up.

The surgeon will be responsible for appropriate patient selection, individualised treatment planning, informed consent, safe surgical practice and continuity of care. They will also contribute to clinical governance, service development and the integration of surgical and non-surgical treatment options.

Key responsibilities

Patient assessment and consultation

  • Conduct comprehensive consultations, assessing medical history, patient concerns, treatment goals and suitability for cosmetic surgery.
  • Evaluate physical and psychological factors that may influence treatment decisions, recovery and patient satisfaction.
  • Recommend appropriate surgical or non-surgical options based on clinical findings and realistic expectations.
  • Explain proposed treatments, alternatives, limitations, risks, recovery requirements and likely outcomes clearly.
  • Ensure patients have sufficient information and time to make informed decisions.
  • Decline or defer treatment when it is not in the patient’s best interests, arranging further assessment or referral where appropriate.

Cosmetic surgery

  • Perform a range of cosmetic surgical procedures within demonstrated competence and agreed clinical privileges.
  • Offer procedures including liposuction and blepharoplasty, alongside other suitable treatments aligned with the surgeon’s expertise and the clinic’s service offering.
  • Develop individualised surgical plans that balance patient goals with safety, anatomical considerations and achievable outcomes.
  • Maintain thorough clinical records, consent documentation, operative notes and appropriately consented clinical photography.
  • Recognise and manage complications promptly, following established escalation and referral pathways.
  • Undertake procedures within the capabilities of the clinic’s facilities, staffing and clinical support arrangements.

Non-surgical aesthetic treatments

  • Assess and treat suitable patients using non-surgical injectables, including botulinum toxin and dermal fillers, within relevant qualifications and scope of practice.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of facial anatomy, product selection, treatment techniques and complication management.
  • Advise patients on how surgical and non-surgical options may complement one another where clinically appropriate.
  • Where suitably trained, provide energy-based treatments such as laser resurfacing, Endolift or other relevant procedures. (Training can be provided)
  • Maintain an evidence-informed approach to new treatments, technologies and techniques.

Aftercare and patient experience

  • Provide clear, personalised preoperative and postoperative advice.
  • Conduct follow-up appointments to assess recovery, healing and treatment outcomes.
  • Respond promptly and compassionately to patient questions, concerns and complications.
  • Participate in agreed arrangements for urgent postoperative advice and review.
  • Ensure effective handovers and continuity of care during periods of absence.
  • Handle concerns, complaints and revision discussions professionally and transparently.

Clinical governance and professional standards

  • Maintain current professional registration, appropriate indemnity and ongoing professional development.
  • Follow clinic policies, infection prevention procedures and applicable professional standards.
  • Participate in clinical audit, case reviews, incident reporting and quality improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and review of clinical protocols, consent processes and patient information.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate, secure clinical documentation.
  • Support a culture of openness, accountability and continuous improvement.

Teamwork and service development

  • Work collaboratively with clinicians, nursing staff, patient coordinators and management.
  • Contribute to developing the cosmetic surgery offering at the new Kinightsbridge location.
  • Support colleagues through clinical discussion, education and mentoring where appropriate.
  • Help ensure patient pathways are well coordinated, from initial enquiry through to aftercare.
  • Contribute to accurate, ethical patient education and clinic communications where required.

Essential qualifications and experience

  • Recognised medical qualification and current registration and licence to practise with the relevant medical regulator.
  • Appropriate surgical training and specialist credentials for the procedures undertaken.
  • Demonstrable experience independently performing cosmetic surgical procedures, including liposuction and blepharoplasty.
  • Evidence of relevant clinical experience and outcomes, supported by a case log or equivalent documentation.
  • Training and practical experience in non-surgical injectable treatments.
  • Strong understanding of surgical anatomy, patient assessment, perioperative care and complication management.
  • Excellent consultation, communication and informed consent skills.
  • A patient-centred approach, with the ability to set realistic expectations and exercise sound clinical judgement.
  • Appropriate professional indemnity covering the agreed scope of work.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development and high standards of clinical practice.
  • Satisfactory professional references and eligibility to work at the clinic’s location.

Desirable experience

  • Experience across a broader range of cosmetic surgical procedures.
  • Training and experience in laser resurfacing, Endolift or other energy-based treatments.
  • Experience integrating surgical and non-surgical aesthetic care.
  • Previous work in a private cosmetic surgery clinic or outpatient surgical setting.
  • Involvement in teaching, mentoring, clinical audit or service development.
  • Experience helping establish or expand a clinical service.

Personal qualities

We are looking for an approachable, dependable and collaborative surgeon who places patient wellbeing at the centre of every decision. The successful candidate will combine attention to detail with a calm, professional manner and the ability to build trust with patients and colleagues.

They should be comfortable discussing the limitations of treatment, managing expectations honestly and recommending against a procedure where appropriate.
