Cosmetology Instructor

Job Responsibilities (not all listed in job post):

We are looking for individuals who:

• Have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in haircutting, coloring, styling, and current industry techniques.
• Have experience and knowledge in nail services.
• Demonstrate and teach technical skills through classroom instruction and hands-on training.
• Supervise, mentor, and motivate students in both the classroom and student salon.
• Prepare students for their California State Board licensing examinations and successful careers in the beauty industry.
• Prepare lesson materials, deliver engaging instruction, grade assignments, and evaluate student performance.
• Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and offer individualized guidance to help students succeed.
• Follow and teach the school's established curriculum while maintaining compliance with state regulations and school policies.
• Promote proper sanitation, infection control, safety, and professional standards.
• Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and skill levels.
• Stay current with industry trends, products, and techniques.
• Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with students, fellow instructors, and administration.
• Demonstrate patience, integrity, professionalism, and strong leadership skills.
• Have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a classroom effectively.
• Create a positive, encouraging, and respectful learning environment where students feel supported and motivated.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a current, valid California Cosmetology License.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the cosmetology industry.
• Strong technical knowledge and experience in hair services, with knowledge of nail services.
• Previous classroom instruction, training, or mentoring experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and connect with students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
• A genuine passion for education, continued learning, and helping others succeed is an absolute must!

Experience:

• Cosmetology: 3 years (Required)
• Cosmetology Instructor experience: Preferred

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
