Cost Accountant

Required Cost Accountant for a Food Industry at Nepal (Itahari):

Core Responsibilities

• Cost Analysis & Reporting: Analyze direct and indirect costs (e.g., raw materials, labor, and overhead) and compare actual expenses to standard costs.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in developing annual operating budgets, forecasting expenses, and preparing variance reports for executive leadership.
• Inventory Management: Monitor cycle counts, perform physical inventory audits, reconcile subledgers to the general ledger, and calculate obsolescence reserves.
• Financial Compliance: Ensure expense classification complies with regulatory standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Process Improvement: Identify workflow inefficiencies and recommend data-driven solutions to reduce waste and maximize profit margins.
• Month-End/Year-End Close: Execute month-end closings, post journal entries, and compile consolidated financial statements.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

• Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field.
• Experience: 510+ years of progressive accounting or cost analysis experience. Food manufacturing industry experience is highly preferred.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional data analysis, root cause troubleshooting, and cross-departmental communication skills.
• Handle all transactions related to accounts.
• Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports.
• Make effective presentations of the financial reports.
• Should have good communication skills.
• Should have knowledge of tax & vat.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting software.
• Should be result oriented, and self-motivated.
• Teamwork: to collaborate effectively with diverse teams to achieve common goals and objectives.
• Confidentiality: Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
