Cost Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare any related reports
• Maintain and Computation of costing
• Proactive analysis of variances the costing movement
• Compile and analyze product related costing and reporting
• Perform and coordinate monthly physical stock count for raw material and work in progress, review and verify stock report
• Forecast P&L with projections of sales and production data, and handle any other ad-hoc assignments according to business needs.
• Track and verify Stock Movement (SM) to ensure consistency between physical stock and system data.
• Create awareness among budget and KPI owners to meet or exceed standards through a detailed understanding of the key factors.
• Work side by side with external and internal auditors relevant to the costing area to ensure compliance with audit standards.
• Support preparation of indirect tax submissions (e.g. SST, VAT, GST as applicable).
• Assist in compiling data for corporate tax filing and liaising with external tax agents or auditors.
• Ensure compliance with local taxation laws and maintain proper documentation for audit purposes.

Job Requirements:

• At least 4-5 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Finance/Accountancy or equivalent.
• Strong level of analytical skills, numeracy and costing understanding.
• Willingness to learn and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proven communications skills/ presentation skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge or experience in Standard Costing will be an added advantage.
• Good Interpersonal competencies, attention to details and hands on person.
• Able to work independently and in the team with minimum supervision
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
• A qualified Chartered Accountant is preferred (e.g. ACCA or equivalent).
• Ability to speak and write fluently in Mandarin, Malay, and English. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
