Cost Accountant

StevenDouglas has been exclusively engaged on a Senior Cost Accountant opportunity in Austin, Texas. This role is on-site 3 days per week and remotely 2 days.

This is a newly created position that is critical to building out the accounting team. The ideal candidate will be a strong senior-level accountant with cost accounting experience who could grow from this role into a Cost Accounting Manager position with this public company.

The Role:

• Responsible for all manufacturing cost accounting including month end close, maintaining accurate costs, labor & overhead absorption, inventory management, freight and duty tracking and monitoring.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of work experience in Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field.
• Ability to understand the manufacturing environment and the associated financial processes.
• Knowledge of supply chain, receiving, inventory flow, operations process and manufacturing principles.
