Cost Accountant

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyze direct materials, direct labor, and manufacturing overhead costs.
• Prepare and maintain product cost sheets and standard costing records.
• Conduct monthly cost variance analysis (actual vs. standard/budget).
• Generate cost reports and provide recommendations to management.
• Monitor production expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Product Costing and Inventory Control

• Calculate and update standard costs for finished goods and work-in-process inventory.
• Review inventory valuation and support cycle count and physical inventory activities.
• Analyze material usage, scrap, rework, and production efficiency.
• Monitor inventory movements and investigate cost discrepancies.

Budgeting and Forecasting

• Assist in preparing annual manufacturing budgets and cost forecasts.
• Monitor departmental spending against approved budgets.
• Support financial planning and cost control initiatives.

Manufacturing Operations Support

• Work closely with Production, Purchasing, Warehouse, Logistics, and Finance teams.
• Evaluate production processes to improve cost efficiency.
• Support new product costing and profitability analysis.
• Participate in continuous improvement and productivity projects.

Compliance and Internal Controls

• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and audit requirements.
• Support internal and external audits related to inventory and costing.
• Maintain accurate costing documentation and records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Management Accounting, or related field.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in cost analysis, cost accounting, or manufacturing finance.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Strong knowledge of: Standard Costing, Variance Analysis, Inventory Management, Budgeting and Forecasting, Cost Allocation Methods
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and report presentation skills.
