Cost Accounting Assistant

We're looking for a Cost Accounting Assistant who is analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about transforming project data into meaningful financial insights that support business decisions. The role will work closely with our Engineering, Project Controls, Procurement, and Finance teams to ensure project costs remain accurate, controlled, and aligned with business objectives.

What You'll Do

• Monitor and analyze project costs from project mobilization through completion.
• Prepare and maintain project cost reports, cost forecasts, and budget variance analyses.
• Track labor, materials, subcontractor, and equipment costs across multiple projects.
• Partner with Engineering and Project Controls to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting.
• Assist in project budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
• Prepare monthly financial and cost performance reports for management.
• Recommend opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Support month-end closing, reconciliations, audits, and financial reporting.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, or a related field.
• CPA is an advantage but not required.
• Experience in cost accounting, project accounting, or construction accounting is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, job costing, and variance analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Able to collaborate effectively with both Finance and Engineering teams.
