Cost Accounting

About the role

The Cost Accounting position is responsible for monitoring and analyzing the company's costs, particularly production and inventory costs, to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective cost control.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate cost accounting records and reports.
• Monitor and analyze production costs, material usage, labor, and overhead expenses.
• Calculate and analyze product costs and variances.
• Assist in inventory valuation and reconciliation.
• Review production and inventory records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare cost variance reports and provide explanations for significant variances.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
• Coordinate with Production, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Finance teams regarding cost-related matters.
• Conduct regular reconciliation of inventory and cost accounts.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Preferably with experience in Cost Accounting, Manufacturing Accounting, or Inventory Accounting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and cost accounting practices.
• Experience in inventory management and reconciliation is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems/software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and highly accurate.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively with different departments.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
