Cost Analyst

Job Purpose:

The Cost Analyst will collect and analyze financial information related to the organization’s expensed, seeking ways to improve accuracy of budgets and forecasts, and to decrease the cost of assigned departments and projects.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Analyzes expenses and cost transactions per Line of Business (LoB); ensures that the transactions are recorded accurately and assigned to the appropriate projects and departments.

2. Provides monthly expense reports and detailed financial analysis to support business units in managing cost and increase efficiency.

3. Performs budget monitoring and analyzes budget re-alignment if necessary

4. Assists in the preparation of annual budget and forecast. Performs other related duties, as assigned.

5. Performs periodic review of unit costs to support in pricing strategy.

6. Conducts market research as needed to recommend changes to pricing or business models.

7. Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business required.
• At least three years of related experience required.

Key Competences Required:

• Excellent analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel) or similar software as well as accounting software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
