Cost and Planning Engineer

The Cost and Planning Engineer is responsible for the planning, scheduling, cost monitoring, quantity tracking, progress measurement, and project controls of structural retrofit works. The position ensures that project activities are properly planned, resources are efficiently utilized, costs are controlled, and project deliverables are completed within the approved budget, schedule, quality requirements, and contractual obligations.

The Cost and Planning Engineer shall work closely with the Structural Engineer, Construction Manager, Contractor, Project Manager, Client/Building Owner, Property Management, and other project stakeholders to establish realistic project schedules, monitor actual performance against approved plans, identify potential delays or cost impacts, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

The position requires a strong understanding of construction methodologies, structural retrofit activities, quantity take-off, cost estimating, project scheduling, progress billing, variation orders, and construction documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

·       Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

·       Licensed Civil Engineer is preferred, particularly for projects involving structural retrofit and construction management.

Experience

·       Preferably 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction cost control, project planning, quantity surveying, project controls, or construction management.

·       Experience in structural retrofit, rehabilitation, strengthening, repair, or construction projects is an advantage.

·       Experience in high-rise buildings, commercial buildings, condominiums, industrial facilities, or similar complex structures is preferred.

Software Skills

Proficiency in or familiarity with:

·       Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project;

·       Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and spreadsheet-based project controls;

·       Microsoft Word and PowerPoint;

·       AutoCAD is an advantage;

·       Construction estimating and project management software is an advantage.
