Cost Control Assistant Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Budget Development:
• Assist in the preparation and development of projects budgets in collaboration with department heads and project managers in all destinations of the company
• Work closely with the line manager to ensure alignment of budgets with organizational goals and objectives
• Cost Control, Monitoring and Analysis:
• Assist in the development and implementation of cost monitoring systems
• Regularly analyze project budgets, expenditures, and forecasts to identify trends and potential cost overruns
• Collaborate with project teams to understand cost implications and provide insights for decision-making
• Budget Management:
• Support the preparation of project budgets by gathering and analyzing relevant cost data
• Work closely with the line manager to ensure accurate budget allocations and adjustments as needed
• Monitor budget performance and recommend corrective actions to mitigate variances
• Budget Monitoring and Reporting:
• Monitor budget performance regularly and prepare comprehensive reports highlighting key performance indicators and areas of concern
• Present budget status updates to management and recommend strategies for achieving financial targets
• Reporting and Documentation:
• Prepare and present regular cost control reports to management, highlighting key cost drivers and deviations from budget
• Vendor and Contract Management:
• Collaborate with procurement teams to evaluate vendor proposals and contracts from a cost perspective
• Monitor contractor performance and compliance with agreed-upon cost terms
• Forecasting and Predictive Analysis:
• Utilize historical cost data and industry benchmarks to develop accurate cost forecasts for upcoming projects
• Work with project teams to identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project costs
• Process Improvement:
• Identify areas for process improvement within the cost control function and collaborate with the team to implement enhancements
• Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging tools for cost control and recommend their adoption as appropriate

• Monthly Cost Reports:
• Timely and accurate reports detailing project cost performance, budget variances, and forecasted outcomes
• Budget Proposals:
• Well-prepared budget proposals that align with project requirements and financial goals
• Budget Movement:
• Timely updates on budget status, highlighting achievements and areas requiring attention
• Cost Forecasts:
• Reliable and data-driven cost forecasts for upcoming projects, facilitating proactive decision-making
• Documentation:
• Organized and comprehensive documentation of cost-related activities for audit purposes
• Process Improvement Recommendations:
• Proposals for process improvements within the cost control function, demonstrating a commitment to continuous enhancement

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• Preferably 5-8 years of experience in cost control, project budgeting, or project controls
• Experience in real estate development or construction projects is highly preferred
