Cost Control Associate

About the role

SotoGrande Batangas Hotel is seeking a Cost Control Associate to join our Finance team in Bauan, Batangas. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in monitoring, analysing and controlling operational costs across our hotel operations. As a Cost Control Associate, you will be instrumental in ensuring financial efficiency, identifying cost-saving opportunities and providing accurate financial reporting that supports strategic decision-making at all levels of the organisation. This role is essential to maintaining our competitive edge whilst delivering exceptional value and service to our guests.

Key responsibilities

1. Monitor and analyse daily operational expenses across all hotel departments, including food and beverage, housekeeping, maintenance and administration
2. Prepare detailed cost reports and variance analyses, comparing actual expenses against budgeted amounts and investigating significant deviations
3. Assist in the development and maintenance of departmental budgets, working closely with department heads to ensure financial targets are met
4. Conduct regular cost audits and reviews to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements
5. Maintain accurate cost accounting records and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
6. Analyse supplier invoices and pricing to ensure accuracy and identify opportunities for cost reduction or renegotiation
7. Provide cost control analysis and reporting to senior management to support financial planning and decision-making
8. Assist in the implementation of cost control initiatives and monitor their effectiveness
9. Reconcile cost accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
10. Collaborate with other departments to gather cost data and ensure accurate financial information
