About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Cost Control professional to join our team on a full-time basis at our Badung, Bali location. In this role, you will play a crucial strategic function in managing and optimising our operational costs across food, beverage, labour, and general expenses. As Cost Control specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring financial discipline, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and providing actionable insights to support management decision-making. Your work will directly impact the profitability and financial health of CHOOK AND ROOS SPORTS BAR.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse food and beverage costs, including usage variances, waste, and inventory management
• Establish and maintain cost control budgets for all departmental operations and track performance against targets
• Conduct regular cost analysis and prepare comprehensive reports highlighting variances and trends
• Implement cost reduction strategies and process improvements without compromising quality or service standards
• Review supplier invoices and pricing to ensure accuracy and identify negotiation opportunities
• Manage inventory systems and conduct periodic stock counts to prevent shrinkage and loss
• Analyse labour costs, scheduling efficiency, and staffing levels to optimise payroll expenses
• Liaise with kitchen, bar, and management teams to identify operational inefficiencies and cost drivers
• Prepare detailed financial reports and present findings to senior management for strategic planning
• Implement and monitor cost control policies and procedures across all operational areas

What we're looking for

• Qualification in accounting, finance, cost accounting, or a related discipline
• Proven experience in cost accounting or cost control roles, preferably within the hospitality, food and beverage, or restaurant industry
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, variance analysis, and budgeting methodologies
• Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modelling)
• Experience with inventory management systems and stock control procedures
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of hospitality operations and cost drivers in food service environments is highly desirable
• Demonstrated ability to identify trends, patterns, and cost-saving opportunities
