Cost Control Engineer (On-site)

P O S I T I O N O B J E C T I V E

To plan, monitor and report on all Project Cost Control activities pertaining to; the approved

contract and baseline budget, budget change and quantity surveying activities, to minimise the

costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and

quality.

K E Y A C O U N T A B I L I T I E S

1. Analyses and reviews the Service Agreements in the technical and commercial tender

documents in areas pertaining to; Bill of Quantity and Manpower, in addition to planning the

estimated costs of the contractor billing process, prior to final approval of the Project Control

Manager.

2. Analyses the variation cost and the impact of the required changes to the Design, which

includes developing variation analysis based on the different materials needed for the project,

and ultimately minimize project costs, prior to awarding Contractors.

3. Controls and follows-up on active projects’ total expenditures by verifying and checking

suppliers’, vendors and subcontractors’ invoices and claims received from the Project

Managers, in comparison to the baseline budget. Issues a periodical budget report highlighting

cost variation and flags the need for a variation order (VO) when needed.

4. Analyses any manpower changes, received from the Project Managers (in cases of in-house

Site Engineers), and issues adjusted budget reports accordingly.

5. Reflects and updates the budget variation report, based on deviations in the Master Schedule,

communicated by the Schedule Control Engineer, such deviations may include: construction of

all disciplines, material delivery, manpower changes, suppliers’ payments etc.

6. Ensures the continuous registering of all projects’ expenditures for easy retrieval, future

references and continuous improvement purposes.

7. Prepares a Project Closure Report and submits it to the Project Control Manager, illustrating

the performance of the project in respect of the actual versus planned baseline budget.

8. Conducts performance appraisal sessions with the immediate subordinates and ensures that

the performance evaluation process is carried out on time and in an efficient and objective manner

9.Sets the development plans and training needs for the immediate subordinates and

follows up on the execution of the allocated training / program and evaluates its success.

P O S I T I O N R E Q U I R E M E N T S:

• Degree in Engineering with specialization in Project Management or Cost Control related

training

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a relevant capacity of project estimation and cost control

• Skills:

o Strong written and verbal communications

o Ability to work with Primavera

Job Type :

-Full Time .

-Sunday &Monday (From 10:00AM to 4:30PM ) , Tuesday &Wednesday & Thursday (From 8:30AM to 5:30 PM)

-Two days off (Friday & Saturday)

-Location : Majarah business complex, El-shiekh zayed,giza .
