COST CONTROL MANAGER

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive cost control policies, procedures, and systems across all operational departments
• Monitor actual expenditures against budgeted costs and identify variances, investigating significant deviations and recommending corrective actions
• Prepare detailed cost analyses and reports for management review, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities for cost reduction
• Manage the budget planning process, working collaboratively with department heads to establish realistic and achievable cost targets
• Conduct regular cost audits and cost-benefit analyses to ensure resources are allocated efficiently and effectively
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency gains that contribute to overall cost reduction
• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, ensuring accurate categorisation and tracking of all expenditures
• Provide cost control training and support to operational teams to foster a cost-conscious culture throughout the organisation
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners to obtain cost data, forecasts, and supporting documentation
• Prepare financial forecasts and projections based on historical data and anticipated business activities

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in cost accounting, cost control, or financial analysis roles
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, methodologies, and best practices within the industry
• Proficiency with accounting software and financial management systems; experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is highly desirable
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools for financial modelling and reporting
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw meaningful conclusions
• Demonstrated ability to develop and present clear, compelling financial reports and recommendations to senior management
• Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple cost control initiatives simultaneously
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence stakeholders
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all financial matters
