COST CONTROL SUPERVISOR

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement cost control procedures and policies to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting across all departments
• Monitor and analyse actual costs against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and investigating root causes
• Prepare comprehensive cost reports and analyses for management review, highlighting trends and recommending cost reduction opportunities
• Supervise and coordinate with internal teams to gather cost data and ensure timely and accurate cost accounting entries
• Lead the review and validation of cost allocations, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards
• Conduct regular cost audits to verify the accuracy of recorded expenses and identify areas for improvement
• Work collaboratively with department heads and operations teams to support budgeting and forecasting activities
• Mentor and support junior accounting staff involved in cost control functions
• Maintain detailed documentation of cost control processes and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal controls

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in cost accounting or cost control roles, preferably in a supervisory capacity
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, methods (such as job costing, process costing, and activity-based costing), and cost control techniques
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems; experience with ERP systems is advantageous
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify cost drivers and efficiency opportunities
• Strong communication skills and the ability to present financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Leadership capability with experience managing and developing accounting teams
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all financial reporting and analysis
• Understanding of internal control frameworks and compliance requirements
