Cost Controller

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Formulation of cost tracking sheets for Company projects.
• Tracking of project costs and expenditure in line with project budgets.
• Work in conjunction with project managers and the commercial department to ensure maximum profitability.
• Provide critical assessment of all budgets and cost projections.
• Assess all incoming products, resources, and services to ensure the best price.
• Maintain client and service provider relationships.
• Provide general assistance to the Commercial Department in bid preparation.
• Analyze invoices to ensure correct products/services were received at the expected cost.
• Perform duties in line with BOL’s Quality, Safety, Environmental, and management system procedures.

Performance Expectations:

• Development & implementation of project cost control reporting.
• Ensure that all cost activities are reported and tracked .
• Provide guidance to Project Managers with regards to tracking costs.
• Forecasting project budgets.
• Assist Commercial Management with budget information for future tenders.
• Minimize deviation from approved budgets.
• Communicate project cost performance, concerns, and recovery plans to department heads and their project teams.

• Effective communication, team working and organizational skills / good interpersonal skills in a multi-cultural environment.
• Ability to impart knowledge and guidance.

Problem Solving:

• Excellent computer skills to identify shortfalls in project budgets & planning.

Decision Making:

• Make decisions based on experiences and professional standards.

Education and/or Experience:

• Minimum 3 years experience of Cost Control in a contracting environment.
• Previous experience in offshore related business would be an advantage.
• University Degree or higher in Finance and Accounting or Business.
• Experience preferably within a listed company and understanding of required reporting standards.
• The work will entail direct interaction with Thai based and overseas ex-patriates, so conversational and business English skills will be essential.

Computer Skills:

• PC proficiency required, MS Windows & MS Office, with advanced Excel skills.

Specific Knowledge & Skills:

• Understanding of financial reporting requirements to IFRS requirements.
• Understanding of offshore related projects and planning would be considered advantageous.

• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Diplomacy.
• Accountancy skills.

Education and/or Experience:

Work Hours & Benefits

• Mon.~Fri. from 08:30 to 17:30
