Cost Engineer

Job Purpose

As an AI & Digitalization expert - Cost Engineering, you act as the global expert and enabler for digital transformation, AI adoption, and data-driven innovation within the Cost Engineering organization. You are responsible for identifying, developing, implementing, and governing AI-powered and digital solutions that enhance productivity, improve costing accuracy, accelerate decision-making, and support strategic business objectives.

The role drives the integration of Artificial Intelligence, advanced analytics, automation, and modern digital technologies into existing costing, engineering, and business processes. You lead the development and deployment of scalable solutions using platforms such as Python, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and enterprise AI technologies, ensuring alignment with business requirements, governance standards, and IT frameworks.

Qualification

• B.E / B. Tech (Mechanical/Automobile/Production)

Experience

Minimum 5-8 years of automotive experience in the following job profile:

1. Cost engineering, Manufacturing engineering, or process optimization (complex industrial environment preferred)

2. Understanding of manufacturing technologies and production cost structures

3. Should cost modeling, cost benchmarking, technology evolution

4. New Costing tools integration with process development

5. Administration, project management

6. Closely collaborating with the Cross Geographic experts

Skill & abilities

Essential Skills:

1. Strong knowledge in Python, Data Analytics, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, AI/ML technologies, or similar enterprise platforms.

2. Basic understanding of Costing methodologies.

3. Ability to understand the challenges & propose ideas in Cost Engineering.

4. Proficient in Data analytics and business intelligence.

5. Good Interpersonal and presentation skills

6. Good communication Skill (oral / Written)

7. Teamwork, Flexibility & Willing to work in challenging environment

8. Project management and solution delivery

Roles and Responsibilities

Drive the Cost Engineering AI and Digitalization strategy by identifying, prioritizing, and implementing innovative AI, automation, and data-driven solutions that enhance productivity, costing accuracy, and business decision-making across the global Cost Engineering organization.

Lead the integration of AI capabilities into existing costing and engineering platforms, ensuring seamless adoption of intelligent functionalities within calculation systems, digital workflows, and business processes.

Develop, govern, and maintain digital solutions using Python, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and related technologies, ensuring scalable, secure, and business-aligned implementations.

Establish and govern Cost Engineering digitalization frameworks, standards, and best practices, including AI governance, solution architecture, data quality standards, and compliance with corporate IT and cybersecurity requirements.

Lead global AI and digital transformation projects, including business case development, project planning, stakeholder management, change management, implementation, and benefit realization tracking.

Serve as the global AI and Digitalization subject matter expert, representing Cost Engineering in international workshops, leadership reviews, innovation forums, and cross-functional transformation initiatives.

Collaborate with Cost Engineering, Finance & Controlling, IT, Procurement, Engineering, and external partners to identify digitalization opportunities and drive end-to-end implementation of innovative solutions.
