• Provide cost transparency & detailed cost analysis on a state-of-the-art level for existing and future products & components.
• The role is based in our ICC Guangzhou and requires extensive travel and as well as strong English proficiency.

Key Responsibilities / Duties & Responsibilities

• Product cost calculations in terms of advanced cost analysis for components & systems in the area of finished goods, plastics, sheet metal, casting, forging, machining, electrics/electronics, painting/coating and assembly.
• Creation of these cost models must be based on a deep understanding of the manufacturing processes and cost drivers behind, e.g. machine hour rates, cycle times, material & labor cost, overhead, etc.
• Provide negotiation support and recommendations to Product Categories and Global Commodities for new products as well as for current production.
• Support RFQ's for new/existing products with a should cost/target cost on a detailed & reliable level.
• Provide design-to-cost/design-to-manufacturing recommendations to the R&D teams during the concept phase of NPD programs (TD/B, TD/C and Stage Gate).

Job Specifications

• A bachelor degree in Engineering / Industrial Engineering or a degree as technician, either one with a strong focus on manufacturing methods and processes.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is needed. Deep understanding of at least 2 common manufacturing processes being utilized in our commodities & products (see list above)
• Experience with established cost calculation tools (Kerkhoff Cost Engineering, Teamcenter Cost Management/Perfect Pro Calc/Tsetinis, Cost Data)
• A knowledge about cost elements like packaging and logistics would complete the profile.
• English language skills are required (fluently).
• Strong negotiation, presentation and communication skills
• Willingness to be trained and to improve on new methods and technologies
• Willingness to travel
• Project management experience building on teamwork skills is also preferred
