Cost Engineer/Estimator

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Engineer/Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate project cost estimates, monitoring project budgets, and identifying potential cost savings to ensure projects are delivered within financial targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for various phases of construction or engineering projects. - Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. - Consult with clients, vendors, and personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. - Track project costs against budget and provide regular reporting to management. - Identify and mitigate financial risks throughout the project lifecycle. - Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and contract negotiations. - Maintain databases of historical cost data for future project forecasting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. - Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost estimation or cost engineering. - Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Sage, HCSS, or similar tools). - Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and blueprints. - Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Professional certification (e.g., CCP, CCE) is a plus.

Pay: R70 000,00 - R90 000,00 per month
