About the Role
We are a U.S.-based construction company seeking a detail‑oriented Cost Estimator located in Mexico to support our growing pipeline of residential and commercial projects. This position is fully remote, ideal for candidates who can interpret construction drawings with accuracy and deliver consistent, reliable takeoffs and pricing.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quantity takeoffs for insulation, drywall, and related scopes using digital plan review tools.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine accurate material and labor requirements.
- Prepare clear, organized estimates aligned with U.S. construction standards and project timelines.
- Collaborate with internal U.S. teams to clarify scope, identify value‑engineering options, and support bid strategy.
- Maintain accurate cost data, pricing updates, and historical project records.
- Review addenda, revisions, and updated drawings as projects progress.
- Communicate proactively with project managers, GCs, and vendors when clarification is needed.
Qualifications
- Experience in construction estimating (insulation, drywall, or similar scopes preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Strong proficiency with digital takeoff software (STACK, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organization.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Advanced English proficiency (required) — ability to communicate clearly with U.S. teams, read construction drawings/specs, and prepare estimates in English.
- Experience working with U.S. construction companies or U.S. building standards is a strong plus.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with residential and commercial projects in the U.S. market.
- Understanding of energy codes, R‑value requirements, and building envelope assemblies.
- Ability to identify scope gaps, inconsistencies, and VE opportunities.
What We Offer
- 100% remote work environment.
- Competitive compensation based on experience.
- Clear deliverables and consistent workflow.
- Supportive, collaborative estimating culture.
