Costing and Engineering Manager

About the role

Lead costing and engineering functions to support product development, cost optimization, and operational excellence. Develop and execute product development, costing, and value engineering strategies aligned with business goals. Manage product cost analysis, quotations, and pricing recommendations to ensure accuracy and profitability. Oversee engineering projects from concept design through mass production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead costing and engineering functions to support product development, cost optimization, and operational excellence
• Develop and execute product development, costing, and value engineering strategies aligned with business goals
• Manage product cost analysis, quotations, and pricing recommendations to ensure accuracy and profitability
• Oversee engineering projects from concept design through mass production
• Enhance product designs for improved functionality, quality, manufacturability, and cost efficiency
• Establish and continuously improve costing methodologies, engineering processes, and best practices
• Resolve complex technical, quality, manufacturing, and engineering issues
• Collaborate with customers and provide technical guidance on design, materials, and manufacturing solutions
• Lead cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones, KPI targets, and operational objectives
• Manage engineering resources, databases, compliance requirements, and team development through coaching and performance management

About you

• Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Minimum 5 years of management experience in product costing, engineering, R&D, and project management
• Strong leadership, project management, and team development capabilities
• Extensive knowledge of product costing, manufacturing processes, sourcing, and product development
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Proven experience managing customer-facing projects and cross-functional teams
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems, knowledge of AutoCAD, Pro-E, Freeform and use of AI is an advantage
• Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English
• Based in Hong Kong with occasional travel to Mainland China as required
