Costing Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for sheet metal components and fabricated assemblies.
• Study customer drawings, 2D/3D models, BOMs, and technical specifications for new product costing.
• Calculate raw material costs based on material grade, thickness, blank size, nesting, and scrap percentage.
• Estimate process-wise manufacturing costs, including laser cutting, CNC bending, punching, welding, grinding, machining, surface treatment, and assembly, wherever applicable.
• Calculate cycle time, machine-hour rates, labour costs, tooling costs, and other manufacturing expenses.
• Prepare costing sheets, cost breakdowns, and quotations for new product development (NPD) projects.
• Coordinate with Design, Production, PPC, Purchase, Quality, and Sales teams to validate costing assumptions.
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations for bought-out items, tooling, and outsourced processes.
• Support feasibility studies, value engineering, and cost-reduction activities.
• Review actual production costs against estimated costs and identify cost variances.
• Support customer RFQs, commercial negotiations, and cost revision activities.
• Maintain costing records, quotation history, and NPD documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in costing, NPD costing, or estimation in sheet metal fabrication or a similar manufacturing industry.

Preferred Experience

Experience in costing components manufactured through laser cutting, CNC bending, punching, welding, fabrication, powder coating, machining, and assembly.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
