Costing Engineer- Electrical Panels / MEP

Role & responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for LT/HT electrical panels and MEP works, ensuring pricing aligns with project specifications.
• Prepare tender costing and MEP costing for bids/tenders, ensuring competitive and accurate pricing.
• Review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) to determine panel requirements, breaker ratings, busbar sizing, and component selection.
• Prepare detailed BOQs and material take-offs from SLDs and technical drawings for accurate estimation and procurement planning.
• Use Insta CAD / costing software to generate quotations and cost breakdowns.
• Collaborate with design engineers to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or compliance.
• Coordinate with vendors for competitive pricing, negotiate procurement rates, and evaluate supplier performance.
• Support sales and project teams with cost breakdowns, quotation reports, and technical documentation.
• Maintain and update a costing database to streamline future estimations.
• Ensure all costing work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.
• Assist in basic panel/layout design review using AutoCAD as needed.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 14 years of experience in electrical panel costing, tender costing, MEP costing, or estimation.
• Hands-on experience with Insta CAD (or similar costing/estimation software) and AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of LT panels, switchgear, busbar design, and wiring layouts.
• Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced) for cost analysis and reporting.
• Ability to read and interpret Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and technical drawings.
• Good vendor negotiation and communication skills.
