Counselor

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our behavioral health team. The ideal candidate will provide mental health and addiction counseling services, supporting clients through assessments, treatment planning, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions. This role requires a strong commitment to client well-being, clinical documentation, and effective communication within a multidisciplinary team. The Counselor will be currently licensed as a PLPC in Mississippi and possess a master’s degree in a relevant field.

Duties

• Conduct mental health assessments to evaluate client needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide counseling services for behavioral health issues, including trauma-focused therapy, child and youth therapy, and addiction counseling.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to deliver effective therapeutic interventions tailored to each client.
• Engage in client communication to build trust, facilitate progress, and support recovery goals.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive support for clients.
• Apply trauma-informed approaches to address clients’ unique histories and experiences.
• Adhere to ethical standards and confidentiality requirements in all aspects of client care.

Skills

• Current PLPC license in Mississippi with the ability to provide clinical counseling services.
• Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of behavioral health principles, addiction counseling, trauma-focused therapy, and child/youth therapy.
• Proficiency in clinical documentation and experience using EMR/EHR systems.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients of diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to apply evidence-based practices within a compassionate and client-centered approach.
• Strong organizational skills for managing multiple cases while maintaining detailed records.
• Commitment to ethical standards and ongoing professional development in mental health care.

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
