Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our dynamic mental health team. Your expertise will support clients through various challenges, including trauma, grief, behavioral issues, developmental disabilities, and co-occurring disorders. Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments and clinical evaluations to determine client needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
• Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), DBT, trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and art therapy.
• Utilize telehealth platforms to provide remote counseling services, ensuring accessibility for clients with diverse needs.
• Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards, including progress notes, treatment plans, and medical records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including social workers, medical professionals, and case managers—to coordinate care for clients with complex needs such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD, or developmental disabilities.
• Engage in ongoing research and professional development to stay current with best practices in mental health treatment

Qualifications

• Graduate level degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), Licensed Clinical Psychology (PhD), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
• Active independent licensure or certification as required by Illinois state law.
• Proven experience working with children, adolescents, or adults in clinical settings—preferably with experience in inpatient or outpatient environments.
• Strong knowledge of psychotherapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and trauma-focused approaches.
• Familiarity with crisis management techniques and behavior management strategies for individuals with co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities.
• Experience working with diverse populations such as individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD care needs, addiction issues, or gender-related counseling topics.
• Proficiency in clinical documentation standards using electronic health records (EHR/EMR) systems while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills for client engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration; ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to mental health diagnoses and ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9).

Pay: $40.00 - $80.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 35.0 per week
