Counselor/ Peer Support Specialist

American Detox and Residential Treatment Center is growing, and hiring. Our model helps individuals determine the root cause for their addiction, and assist them in overcoming that.

This job offers full time capability if you so desire, however, we will work with any schedule to accomodate you. Days and shift times are flexible. Our goal is to provide our clients with the best possible quality of care and support.

Duties:

• Conduct individual sessions with clients to address their mental health concerns and develop treatment plans
• Facilitate group therapy sessions to provide support and guidance to clients in a group setting
• Perform clinical assessments and evaluations to determine appropriate treatment approaches
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists and social workers, to coordinate care for clients
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records of client progress and treatment plans
• Provide addiction counseling and support to clients struggling with substance abuse issues

Requirements:

• Familiarity with case management principles and practices
• Ability to address gender issues in counseling sessions sensitively and effectively

Skills:

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and establish a therapeutic alliance
• Empathy and compassion towards clients' struggles and challenges
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in therapy practice
• Strong organizational skills to manage caseloads effectively and meet documentation requirements

Responsibilities: - Provide social work support to individuals in need, including addiction counseling, mental health counseling, and crisis intervention. - Conduct assessments to identify individual needs and develop personalized treatment plans. - Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive change and growth. - Offer mentoring and guidance to individuals, helping them develop coping skills and strategies for success. - Collaborate with other professionals, such as behavioral health specialists and medical professionals, to ensure comprehensive care for clients. - Assist with crisis management situations, providing immediate support and intervention when necessary. - Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting progress and treatment plans. Requirements: - - Proven experience in addiction counseling, mental health counseling, or related fields. - Strong knowledge of behavioral health systems and resources. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. - Ability to empathize with individuals facing challenges and provide non-judgmental support. - Proficient in crisis intervention techniques. - Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
