Description
If you are a Student Champion we're looking for you. If you always have the student experience in the forefront of your planning and execution, if you're a collaborator, an innovator and a person who gets things done, this is the job for you. Established at UAB in 2021, the TRIO Educational Opportunity Center Program (EOC) will annually enroll 900 adult learners who are first-generation and/or low-income and assist them in earning a GED, certification, enrolling in college, apprenticeship programs and/or earning other credentials. Reporting to the EOC Director, the specialist is responsible for recruitment and service delivery to program participants. This grant funded position also includes maintaining a student case load and quality relationships with community partners. The program helps program participants access secondary credential completion, postsecondary education, career training, and workforce-aligned pathways. Your Mission: We'll count on you to manage all services for EOC students. You will develop and maintain relationships with community agencies, local high schools, and other TRIO programs in the Jefferson County area and recruit 900 students annually in EOC. Candidates must have the discipline to perform their work off-site with minimal supervision. Candidates must have a commitment to evening, weekend and/or offsite assignments with adjusted day/week schedule. Candidates must also be available for a flexible schedule including day, evening and possibly weekend hours. Must be willing to travel.
