Count Room Operator

Overview

The Count Room Operator is responsible for accurately managing daily cash collections, reconciling transactions, and maintaining secure financial records. This role involves processing collection bags, preparing route funds, and ensuring all cash-handling procedures are followed meticulously. The position requires a high level of attention to detail, integrity, accountability, and adherence to established security protocols to ensure the safe and accurate handling of financial assets.

Responsibilities

• Receive, count, and verify collection and swap bags from collection routes to ensure accuracy.
• Process daily cash collections by reconciling transactions with recorded data.
• Maintain safe balances by securely handling cash and ensuring proper storage.
• Prepare route funds for deposit or transfer according to company procedures.
• Ensure all financial records related to cash handling are complete, accurate, and properly documented.
• Follow established cash-handling and security procedures to prevent discrepancies or theft.
• Maintain a clean and organized count room environment to facilitate efficient operations.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth processing of collections and reporting.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail with excellent accuracy in counting and reconciliation tasks.
• Demonstrated integrity and accountability in handling cash and sensitive financial information.
• Ability to follow strict security protocols and procedures related to cash handling.
• Good organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records consistently.
• Prior experience in cash handling, reconciliation, or a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy and security.
• Basic proficiency with relevant tools or software used for record keeping is advantageous.
