Counter Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Counter Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service while assisting with food preparation and maintaining a clean and organised workspace. Duties

• Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately, ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Assist in food preparation, adhering to food safety standards to ensure quality and hygiene.
• Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during busy periods.
• Handle cash transactions and maintain basic maths skills for accurate billing.
• Upsell menu items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
• Maintain cleanliness of the counter area, kitchen, and dining space in accordance with health regulations.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and communication.
• Provide help to customers with any inquiries or special requests regarding menu items.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred but not essential.
• Strong culinary skills with an understanding of food safety practices.
• Excellent time management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately.
• A friendly demeanour with the ability to engage positively with customers.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
